Week 1: Intro Alec’s Story (Aug. 15th)
Alec Mickey Morris the founder of LionHeart will tell his personal story. Learn about how he overcame the physical, mental, and emotional challenges he overcame after losing a limb and inspired him to start LionHeart.
Week 2: Aerobic Training (Aug. 22nd)
Come learn about your cardiovascular system, heart rate zones, and aerobic training. You will leave with a better understanding of how to develop your own cardiovascular endurance and be able to apply this knowledge in your own training.
Week 3: Other’s Story/Goal setting (Aug. 29th)
Listen to both Julian’s about goal setting and Alec’s personal story on staying fit after amputation.
Week 4: Strength Training (Sep. 5th)
Strength training is an important part of living a healthy lifestyle. We will talk about the benefits of strength training, creating workout plans, and making adaptations to keep you safe while working out.
Week 5: Kyle’s Story (Sep. 12th)
Kyle will talk about living life with [insert his diagnosis] and how he trains and competes in Wheelchair MX!
Week 6: Creating Healthy Eating Habits (Sep. 19th)
Exercise is only part of the journey. We will cover the basics of nutrition and developing healthy eating habits for a lifetime.
